NICK CHARACTERS ON HEALTHY SNACKS
Nickelodeon UK is helping lead the way in understanding consumer concerns and providing a healthier
snack alternative through a new food deal with Kidsnax.
Nickelodeon characters such as Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob Squarepants, and Jimmy Neutron and others
have been licensed for a range of fruit bars and snack packs from Kidsnax.
This new Kidsnax range features fruit bars branded with Nick Jr characters such as Dora the Explorer and
Go Diego Go. The snack packs offer a variety of choices including slices of banana, raisins, and seeds and
are branded with popular Nickelodeon characters such as SpongeBob Squarepants, Avatar, and Jimmy
Neutron.
Clare Piggot, VP Consumer Products Nickelodeon UK, said, “We appreciate the concerns
of parents over what their children eat and we are very keen to offer a choice to our
customers. These Kidsnax items are aimed to be included as part of a child’s 5-a-day
regime of fruit and vegetables.”
Kidsnax is a sister company to healthy snack bar manufacturer Wholebake who
have been making vegetarian foods for over 20 years. All their products are care-
fully produced to exacting standards. They contain only natural ingredients with
no hydrogenated fats, or artificial colours or flavours. The Nickelodeon Kidsnax
ranges are aimed at children from pre-school up to the age of 11 and will be ap-
pearing in supermarkets and health food stores in 2008.
HAPPY HOUSE HITS LATIN AMERICA
Bradford Licensing Associates report continued success for the Happy House brand
in Latin America.
Productos Torre, based in Chile, has recently amended its licensing agreement to in-
clude Ecuador, Colombia and Paraguay. Product lines include notebooks, files and port-
folios together with other back to school items.
Happy House was formed in Australia in 1995 and there are now Happy House concept stores in a number of inter-
national markets with plans underway for further outlets.
