TOTAL LICENSING
CORGI TO CREATE NEW DIECAST LINE FOR THE BEATLES
Apple Corps Ltd has announced a license with Corgi International to pro-
duce a significant range of die-cast products for The Beatles and Yellow Sub-
marine.
The original die-cast toys produced in the Sixties and re-issued in the Nine-
ties are now incredibly rare and keenly sought by collectors. The new models
will include new versions of the classic Yellow Sub-
marine and the Magical Mystery Tour Bus as well as a
Revolver taxi and an Abbey Road Routemaster bus.
Says Corgi International CEO Michael Cookson:
“Corgi as a company has had a long association with
the Beatles having produced the original Yellow Sub-
marine die cast in the 1960’s and it was a priority for
the company to re-initiate a program with Apple Corps/Suba Films for an innovative range of
product, that people will once again enjoy purchasing. With the 40th Anniversary of Sgt Peppers
in 2007, it was a perfect time for the deal to have been agreed, and we are truly excited to be
partners again. We feel that we will have strong retail support for this line especially from specialty
retail and we hope to showcase these products to an all new consumer audience.’’
