Importance of Human Resourcing

The importance of the HR function within an organisation has rapidly gained recognition and this is reflected in the current market place with an increased demand for HR professionals and competitive salaries. Gone are the days when a Personnel department is seen purely as an administrative function. Instead, a Human Resources function is commonly fundamental in shaping a competitive business and driving it forward.

These day’s policies and procedures are implemented to adhere to best practice and keep abreast of legislative changes. This ensures fairness and equal opportunities across all kinds of organisations from SME’s to large multi-national corporations. For example, recent developments in employment law have affected Age Discrimination and the rights of individuals when it comes to maternity and paternity leave. Additionally, in a global marketplace organisations have to compete internationally and there have been numerous high profile cases of organisations downsizing locally to reflect this. Ultimately, this has led to a flurry of activity within the HR field and an increase in demand for suitably qualified HR professionals within South Wales.

Set up in 2001 as a discipline specific recruitment consultancy Human Resourcing has continually catered to these growing needs. Ginny Todd, Senior Consultant, has worked with Human Resourcing since 2004 having graduated and worked in sales and medical recruitment previously. Ginny commented. “The demand for HR Officers and HR Advisers has been tremendous over the last couple of years from both the private and public sectors. Early signs are that more of the same will follow for 2007!” (Ginny focuses on the middle market effectively taking responsibility for both temporary and permanent vacancies in HR roles for staff such as HR officers, HR Advisors and HR Consultants.)

The focused approach of consultants like Ginny allows Human Resourcing to provide a service second to none in terms of knowledge and understanding of the local HR and Training market. This diligent approach is complimented by a dedication to clients and a ‘hands on’ approach to sourcing and placing candidates. Toby Warren MCIPD, Director of Human Resourcing said, “Knowing what a client is looking for is only one half of the battle. Getting to know the organisation and HR team personally allows us to find the right person for the role and not simply finding a candidate that is capable of the work required. A key difference which clients
appreciate.”
