GOOD DEAL, SO WHAT’S YOUR ETHOS?
Backdrop was set up by Beckett, Macey and myself, Vantage, to give something back to
a scene that’s given us so much fun over the past ten years or so. At the same time we
wanted to put on some wicked parties and try and save the world by giving away any
profits we made. Though primarily we’re a D&B night, we always have other genres, hip hop,
breaks, reggae, old school... party music!
WHAT’S THE CROWD LIKE?
It can be pretty varied, we generally attract a slightly older crowd and because of the music on
offer they can be from various scenes. It would be nice to get a few more north Londoners to
brave the river though! Brixton is boootiful!
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT PUTTING THE NIGHT
ON?
The after-party! We all just love having a good time, checking out decent music and buzz off
giving the punters a good night. We like to be a little different, we’ve done BBQs (in the rain!)
and we even had a beach party last Christmas. A nine-year veteran of the Seattle D&B scene, Chad S, aka Olcyrus, Some of his major influences are Ink, Loxy, Keaton, Dylan, Renegade
