TOTAL LICENSING
PLUS LICENS TO REPRESENT SESAME WORKSHOP IN
SCANDINAVIA AND EASTERN EUROPE
Sesame Workshop has named Plus Licens as its licensing representative in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. Plus
Licens will oversee the Sesame brand throughout these markets and programming is currently, or will soon be
broadcasted in Sweden on SVT; Norway on NRK; Denmark on DR; Iceland on RUV; Hungary, Czech Republic,
Romania and Slovakia on MiniMax; and in Poland on Mini Mini.
“We are proud to bring Sesame content to the children of Eastern Europe and Scandinavia and we are
equally excited to have Plus Licens as our licensing rep in these regions,” said Maura
Regan, Sesame Workshop’s Vice President and General Manager of Global Licensing.
“Plus Licens’ long-standing reputation for children’s licensing makes this partnership
a perfect fit and we look forward to utilizing their expertise to expand the
Sesame brand.”
“We are thrilled to be working with Sesame Workshop and a truly glo-
bal brand like Sesame as licensing representatives for Eastern Europe and
Scandinavia,” says Peder Tamm, President of Plus Licens. “The strength and

fruitful licensing opportunities for the Sesame brand.”
NPD NAMES NIGHT GARDEN TOP OF THE TOY MARKET
BBC Worldwide recently confirmed that In the Night Garden, produced
by Ragdoll, is now the biggest license in the NPD Licensed Toy and Game
market, ahead of well established classics such as Thomas and Friends and
Winnie the Pooh.
The latest NPD data also reveals that master toy licensee Hasbro’s In the
Night Garden products dominate the Top 20 Best Seller list with four
products including the 12” talking plush and mini plush assortment making
the leader board.
Gill Pritchard, Director of Children’s, BBC Worldwide commented, “We’re
thrilled that In the Night Garden has soared to this level of success in such
a short space of time. Less than a year since it entered the market we are
competing with long established pre-school winners. The deal with Golden
Bear, our tremendously successful licensee on Charlie and Lola, is further
testament to the pedigree of licensees we attract with this property and
we hope that with them and with Crayola, DanJam and other new and
existing licensee partners we will continue to achieve this success with In
the Night Garden.”
Extending the range still further, BBC Worldwide has appointed Golden
Bear Products Ltd to manufacture and distribute a nursery range for the
pre-school brand across the UK. The range will include teethers, buggie toys and first activity fabric toys for a planned
launch in early 2009. In addition, BBC Worldwide has granted Golden Bear non-exclusive global manufacturing rights
to supply BBC Worldwide appointed licensees.
BBC Worldwide has also agreed a deal with Vivid Imaginations to develop a new range of infant arts and crafts prod-
ucts for In the Night Garden under the Crayola Beginnings brand in UK and Eire. Finally, BBC Worldwide has signed
up DanJam Toys to develop a range of traditional wooden role play and learning toys for a UK retail launch. The initial
range consists of nine lines and features Igglepiggle’s boat and stacking Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and Tombliboo toys.
The lead line is the beautiful pull-along, stacking Ninky Nonk train with 20 individual pieces.
Traditional wooden toys such as an abacus, nested stacking blocks and flip-around day and night clock will also be
available from June across a wide selection of major toy retailers.
