throughout the UK. Overseas, under
the guidance of The Mercer Group, Secret
Wings continues to make strategic appoint-
ments and deals as its international program
expands, consolidating the extensive licensing
and distribution agreement concluded recently
with Canadian sticker and room décor company
Sandylion.
In addition, Italian company eNice has agreed a
wide-ranging manufacturing and licensing deal that in-
cludes stationery, back to school and moulded prod-
ucts and Brand Licensing Israel Ltd has been appoint-
ed as Secret Wings licensing agent for Israel.
UML TO LICENSE DEADLIEST CATCH
United Media has announced an agreement with Original Productions, the production company behind such successful
series as Ice Road Truckers and Monster Garage, wherein United Media will serve as its exclusive merchandise licensing
agent for the primetime Emmy-nominated television series Deadliest Catch. Effective immediately, United Media will
build a licensing program in North America and Canada for Deadliest Catch targeting men 25-49 and gift givers of all
ages. Initial categories include gaming, packaged goods, promotions, housewares, food, publishing, sporting goods and
apparel and accessories.
Now in its fourth season, Deadliest Catch, broadcast on Discovery Channel and on air in over 20 countries. There are
over 50 episodes to-date.
“Original Productions has created a dramatic adventure series with Deadliest Catch that has proven its enduring ap-
peal and staying power,” said Joshua Kislevitz, Senior Vice President of Domestic Licensing at United Media. “United
Media will focus on unique ‘performance’ merchandise opportunities that Deadliest Catch fans will appreciate.”
“We’re thrilled to be working with United Media, and happy for the millions of fans who will now be able to purchase
Deadliest Catch merchandise,” said Thom Beers, CEO of Original Productions.
On the storm-whipped waters of Alaska’s Bering Sea, a small group of brave men pull their livelihood from beneath the

Deadliest Catch chase the Alaskan King Crab harvest, risking their lives for a payoff that can bring them more money
in a week than most people make in a year. Each episode takes viewers to America’s last frontier to follow the story of
individual skippers and their crews as they take on the world’s deadliest job, where a single misstep can cost lives and
a good catch can make a fortune.
NEXT LF-CEE TO BE HELD IN PRAGUE
Following this year’s Licensing Forum - Central & Eastern Europe (LF-CEE) Trade Fair recently held in Warsaw, the organ-
isers, Christine Annechino and Ernie Lustenring have announced that the Fair is going to expand into new countries to
further extend the reach for all of LF-CEE participants.
LF-CEE 2009 will be held in Prague, LF-CEE 2010 will be in Budapest and LF-CEE 2011 will be in Kiev. The 2012 event will
be held in Krakow.
Commenting on the move, Peder Tamm, President of Plus Licens said, “We at Plus Licens greatly welcome the LF-CEE
organizers decision to move the event to Prague in 2009 and to other countries thereafter. Central and Eastern European
Licensing is an intricate mix of strong local as well as multi-territorial licensing and the move will no doubt attract many
new attendees not only from the Czech and Slovak republics but as well from Hungary, Ukraine and the Balkans where
our company has seen vigorous growth lately. This should furthermore broaden the attraction of the LF-CEE for the many
companies that have already experienced LF-CEE to be a great Licensing market place.”
